SHORT DESCRIPTION (one paragraph)
------------------------------------------------------------------
Cyclogram is a browser-based cycle-diagram editor for machine-design engineers. It models one repeating machine cycle: every actuator is a lane, every movement a bar with optional ramp-up and ramp-down. Bindings with signed offsets chain movements, so lengthening one re-times the bound chain that follows instead of forcing a redraw. A critical-path view shows which chain sets the cycle time. Projects stay in the user's own browser.

LONG DESCRIPTION (three paragraphs)
------------------------------------------------------------------
A machine's cycle usually lives in the designer's head and gets re-explained at every hand-off — to controls, on the assembly floor, in the customer meeting. The drawing that documents it, a cyclogram, is often assembled by hand or in a spreadsheet that knows nothing about the timing, so one changed movement means re-checking every number after it. Cyclogram is a browser editor built for that drawing: one repeating cycle, one lane per actuator, one bar per movement.

Each movement is drawn as the engineer times it — an optional ramp-up, a body, an optional ramp-down. Bindings pin one of a movement's four hooks to another movement or a timeline mark with a signed offset, so "the gripper opens 0.2 s after the slide is home" survives a change to the slide. Wrap folds the timeline into its repeating loop; the critical path highlights the chain the cycle time hangs on. It is a scheduling editor, not a simulator: no physics, no collision checking, no CAD.

Cyclogram runs at cyclogram.app in a current browser and installs from Chrome or Edge as an app; after the first sign-in it works offline, needing one online start a month to refresh the session. Projects, the library and the licence live only in the browser: no project reaches the server, which keeps an account e-mail and a password hash. The free edition keeps every editing feature within two actuators and six tasks; a Full licence lifts the caps, removes the watermark and adds Excel export, free during the beta.

Cyclogram is a browser-based cycle-diagram editor for machine-design engineers, and for any process built from timed, dependent steps. It is developed and operated by one person and built local-first: projects stay on the user's own computer. FACT SHEET
------------------------------------------------------------------
Product: Cyclogram (the wordmark is set lowercase as "cyclogram" in the site header and logo)
Category: Browser-based cyclogram editor — also called a cycle diagram or motion diagram. A timing and scheduling editor; not a simulator, not CAD, not a Gantt or calendar tool
What it models: One repeating machine cycle. Each actuator is a horizontal lane; each movement is a bar with an optional ramp-up, a body and an optional ramp-down; bindings with signed offsets chain movements together
Core capabilities: Bindings on four hooks per movement (ramp-up start, body start, body end, ramp-down end), timeline marks and ruler, wrap view, critical path, reusable library, compare view, PDF and Excel export, 150-step undo per project
Who it is for: Machine-design engineers, and any process with timed, dependent steps — an embedded start-up sequence, a chemical batch procedure, a brew day
Maker: Developed and operated by one person. No company name, team or funding is stated anywhere in the product or on the site
Website: cyclogram.app · editor at cyclogram.app/app/ · security and privacy at /security · guide for AI assistants at /ai
Availability: Live and in free public beta until 30 September 2026. Site and app carry © 2026
Editions: Free (no licence file), Full (licence file), Enterprise (announced, in development — not shipped, and not to be described as available)
Free edition — caps: Every editing feature works, but a document may not grow past 2 actuators and 6 tasks. The cap blocks growth only: larger projects still open, edit and delete normally. Commercial use permitted, with no time limit
Free edition — watermark and exports: The on-screen timeline carries a tiled cyclogram.app watermark; the PDF export carries it by default and can be switched off in Preferences. Excel export is a Full-licence feature and is disabled in Free
Full edition: Unlimited actuators and tasks, Excel export, and watermark-free timeline and PDF. No per-feature tiering and no subscription
Licensing mechanism: A signed .mclic file imported once per browser, verified offline in the browser (ECDSA P-256 / SHA-256) with a local expiry check. No activation server and no phone-home. Issued to a person and tied to an account e-mail; either perpetual or valid until a date
Price during the beta: Every Full licence is free while the beta runs, requested through the in-app licence form or by e-mail to support@cyclogram.app. No price list is published anywhere; pricing after the beta is by e-mail
Account: Required to open the editor: an e-mail address and a password of at least 8 characters. Free, no card
Platforms: A website, nothing to install: any current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on Windows, macOS or Linux. Installs as a standalone app from Chrome or Edge, or via "Add to Home screen" on a phone
Offline use: Only the first sign-in needs a connection; the app then runs with no network. The cached session lasts 30 days and one online start refreshes it. Licence checks never contact a server
Time resolution: Snap grid of 0.1 s, 0.5 s, 1 s, 5 s, 10 s, 1 min, 10 min or 1 hour. Cycle time is derived from the last movement; the target cycle time is typed by the user
File formats: .mcyc project (plain indented JSON), .mclib single library entry, .mclibrary whole library with its folder tree, .mclic licence. Preferences export as plain .txt
Export formats: PDF: a single page rendered in the browser, page size computed from the content. Excel: an HTML table saved with an .xls extension, one cell per resolution unit. Both always print the full unwrapped cycle
Privacy posture: Projects, the library, preferences, the licence and the cached session live only in the user's browser (IndexedDB and localStorage) and are never uploaded. There is no server-side project storage and no cloud sync; clearing site data deletes them, so .mcyc files are the backup
What the server holds: An account e-mail address and a password hash (PBKDF2-SHA-256, 100,000 iterations, per-account salt), abuse counters stored as one-way hashes, and the contact details a user types into the optional in-app licence-request form. No machine designs
Cookies, analytics, trackers: No cookies (the session token lives in localStorage), no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel, no third-party font or script, and therefore no cookie banner. The single third-party embed is Cloudflare Turnstile on the sign-up form
Hosting: Cloudflare: the site is deployed to Cloudflare Pages and account records live in a Cloudflare D1 database
Certifications: No SOC 2 report and no ISO 27001 certificate. GDPR compliance is self-assessed and the code audit is self-stated (most recently August 2026)
Interface languages: English, Deutsch and Slovenščina, selectable in Preferences. The ribbon, status bar and preferences translate; canvas popups and the library are English for now
Documentation: A 17-section manual built into the app, a 16-step interactive guided tour that runs on first launch and can be replayed, and 14 tips cards

timeline.png — The editor: one lane per actuator, each movement a bar with optional ramps, connectors showing the bindings and their signed offsets.
wrap.png — Wrap view folds the timeline into the repeating loop at the target cycle time; the data is unchanged and exports print it unwrapped.
critical-path.png — Critical path highlights the bound chain that sets the cycle time, walking back from the movement that ends last.
